Musical Instruments of the World: Iida-Vilhelmiina Sinivalo

The Musical Instruments of the World series showcases musicians and instruments from around the globe. The series is produced and curated by Melisa Yıldırım.

Iida-Vilhelmiina Sinivalo is a cellist and artistic researcher from Helsinki whose work explores the intersection of classical music, contemporary music performance, and improvisation. She actively collaborates with artists representing diverse musical and artistic traditions in Finland and internationally, and has premiered numerous new works.

In her solo cello concert, Sinivalo investigates the dialogue between sound and listening. The programme brings together contemporary compositions from different musical traditions, moving between structured compositions and more open moments.
