Hannu has built a long career in property and construction services in the Jyväskylä region. Work has been his rhythm, his pride, and his identity. When the company initiates restructuring negotiations, Hannu believes until the very end that everything will work out - until he is the one laid off. In the elevator, he encounters his boss Esa and refuses to let him out until he gets an answer: Why me?

Riisto is a tragicomedy about two actors exploring the pressures of working life, management, and the fear of becoming invisible. The play is built from two mirrored parts: first we see the situation through Hannu's eyes, then through Esa's. The same elevator scene repeats, but its meanings shift. Along the way, we visit the depot break room, the manager's office, networking at sauna evenings, and the home where work follows even when it should stay outside the front door.

Riisto is a co-production between Teatterikone and Jyväskylä City Theatre. On stage are Markus Virtanen (Jyväskylä City Theatre) and Aaro Vuotila (Teatterikone). Screenplay and direction: Annu Sankilampi. Set design: Taru Svan, sound design: Kalle Vilander, lighting design: Timo Hanhisalo.
