Dance and Nature Workshops - for 5-8-year-olds and their accompanying adults
Vuotalon Pikkusali ja Vuosaaren alueen lähimetsät, Helsinki
ilmainen
Dance and nature workshops are designed for children aged 5-8 years together with an accompanying adult. During the workshops we play, move through dance activities, and explore the nearby forest together - themes range from imaginative play to stories, games, and forest walks. No previous dance experience is required. The instructors are dance artist and dance pedagogue Jenni Koistinen and dance artist and choreographer Virva Talonen.
The workshops are part of the Kone Foundation-funded "Art of Knowing" project at the University of Helsinki, where researchers and dance artists together develop participatory methods in which play, embodiment, and nature are sources of knowledge. Participants can, if they wish, take part in the research - for more information: anna.rainio@helsinki.fi.
The workshops are held at Vuotalo's Pikkusali and in the nearby forests of the Vuosaari area. Exact meeting places will be announced to registered participants before the course begins. We expect participants to commit to all sessions throughout the autumn season. The workshops are led in Finnish, and in Swedish and English if needed.
