Dance and Nature Workshops - For Young People and Adults — Pikkusali, Vuotalo, Helsinki
Free entry

The workshops combine dance and the nature around Vuosaari - participants move both in the dance studio and in nearby forests. Through tasks, games, and play, we explore different ways of moving in our own style, with the forest and its ecosystem as a central theme.

Dance artist and pedagogue Jenni Koistinen and dance artist and choreographer Virva Talonen lead the workshops. Throughout the autumn, researchers Anna Rainio and Tuija Kasa will visit to discuss topics that emerge during the sessions.

The workshops are part of the University of Helsinki's "Art of Knowing" project, funded by the Kone Foundation. Participants can take part in research connected to the project if they wish - more information: anna.rainio@helsinki.fi.

The workshops are open to all young people and adults interested in dance and nature, and no previous dance experience is needed. Participants are encouraged to attend all autumn sessions. Instruction is in Finnish, and also in Swedish and English if needed.
