MIKKELI CITY ORCHESTRA: SAIMAA SINFONIETTA - ALL SAINTS' DAY REQUIEM

The Mikkeli City Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Choir perform Antonín Dvorák's Requiem on Thursday, 29 October at the mikaeli concert and congress hall. Conductor Erkki Lasonpalo leads this classical interpretation of the requiem mass, in which the choir, orchestra and soloists - soprano Minna-Leena Lahti, alto Pihla Terttunen, tenor Tuomas Miettola and bass Janne Sihvo - serve as equal narrators. Dvorák composed his Requiem in 1889-1890 at the height of his career as a kind of artistic reckoning. Lasonpalo's Finnish tour encompasses two concerts, with this performance being the first.
