Soiva kieli - Aino Ackté 150 Years

The concert "Soiva kieli" celebrates opera singer Aino Ackté on her 150th anniversary. The programme features songs and arias that Ackté performed in her concerts, along with excerpts from her letters and diary - her own reflections on a singer's life.

Ackté was an internationally acclaimed star: Richard Strauss, among others, declared her to be "the only Salome". Finnish composers of the golden age, such as Merikanto, Sibelius and Madetoja, wrote songs and operas for her.

The dramatisation is by Juulia Tapola, and the concert features students from the Sibelius Academy.
