British progressive rock band The Pineapple Thief performs in Viikki as part of the CoolHead Live series. Finnish band Krypta opens the evening with a solo set.
Bruce Soord is a British multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer from Yeovil, Somerset, best known as the founder, vocalist and principal songwriter of progressive rock band The Pineapple Thief, which he started in 1999. Under his leadership the band has released over 16 studio albums and scored consecutive UK Rock Chart number ones with Dissolution (2018) and It Leads to This (2024). Beyond the band, Soord works as a sought-after mix engineer for artists including TesseracT, Opeth and Jethro Tull, and has released four solo albums - the most recent being Ghosts in the Park (May 2026).
Bruce Soord released his fourth solo album Ghosts in the Park on 15 May 2026 via Kscope, described as his most personal work to date.
Soord performed at the Ankea Festival in Tampere, Finland on 6 June 2026 as part of his European solo tour supporting Ghosts in the Park.
Soord announced the Ghosts in the Park album and released the lead single 'Pillars', with a second single 'Meet Me on the Downs' following in April 2026.
The Pineapple Thief released the anthology earbook Retracing Our Steps (Kscope), an 8-disc set remixing and remastering the band's 2007-2014 catalogue, curated by Soord.
The Pineapple Thief released It Leads to This on 9 February 2024, which reached number one on the UK Rock and Metal Chart.
