Eero Koivistoinen (born 13 January 1946 in Helsinki) is a saxophonist, composer, arranger and educator who has shaped Finnish jazz since the mid-1960s. He studied at the Sibelius Academy and Berklee College of Music, and his quartet won the ensemble competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1969 - the first international recognition of Finnish jazz at that scale. Over six decades he has moved fluidly between post-bop, jazz-funk, big-band writing and African-influenced music, and he served as artistic director of UMO Jazz Orchestra in 1996-1998.
Koivistoinen Quartet headlined the free Teurastamo Jazz festival in Helsinki on 5 July 2025, curated by We Jazz.
The Eero Koivistoinen Quartet performed a Mother's Day concert at Koko Jazz Club in Helsinki on 11 May 2025.
Koivistoinen Quartet and singer Nina Mya toured Finland together in October-November 2024, with Yle recording the collaboration in December 2024.
The Eero Koivistoinen Quartet released their third album, Diversity, on Svart Records in 2022.
Koivistoinen received the Finnish State Music Award in 2017.
