Megadeth is an American thrash metal band founded in Los Angeles in 1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine after his departure from Metallica. Albums like "Peace Sells… but Who's Buying?" and "Countdown to Extinction" cemented their place among the genre's classics. They are widely regarded as one of the "Big Four" of thrash metal.
