About

Whispered is a Finnish melodic death metal band founded in 2004 by Jouni Valjakka, built around a deep fascination with Japanese culture, samurai mythology and traditional folk instruments woven into heavy orchestral metal. The band released three studio albums between 2010 and 2016 - Thousand Swords, Shogunate Macabre and Metsutan - Songs of the Void - before going on an extended hiatus. Their fourth album, Honorbound, arrives on 11 September 2026 via Ranka Kustannus, nearly a decade after Metsutan.
