Brymir is a melodic death metal band from Helsinki, founded in 2006 and currently signed to Napalm Records. The quartet - vocalist Viktor Storm Gullichsen, guitarist Joona Björkroth (also of Battle Beast), bassist Jarkko Niemi and drummer Patrik Fält - builds its sound around heavy riffing, orchestral arrangements and cinematic layers shaped in part by Gullichsen's day job as a film sound designer. Four studio albums span from the folk-tinged debut Breathe Fire to the Sun (2011) to the symphonic Voices in the Sky (2022), with a fifth record due in October 2026.
Brymir announced their fifth studio album What We Leave Behind, due October 2, 2026 via Napalm Records, and released the title track as the first single.
The band announced the What We Leave Behind Tour 2026, a Finnish headline run in September-October with support from Horizon Ignited and Omnivortex.
Brymir are scheduled to play the Hellsinki Metal Festival in Helsinki on August 7 and Summer Breeze Open Air in Dinkelsbühl on August 12.
Guitarist Sean Haslam departed from Brymir after nearly two decades with the band.
