Tanssin Aika 2026: Guhte gullá / Here to here
Young dancers move through the world's despair beneath the earth, sheltered in a cave, calling upon forgotten Sámi goddesses Uksáhkkán, Juoksáhkkán and Sáráhkkán for help. Our relationship with the earth and the ancestors dwelling within it is awakening - it is time to find the sacred that rests in the earth's embrace.
In this work, different generations listen to the voice of their foremothers through dance and Sámi traditional craft, duodji. Birit & Katja Haarlan and Outi Pieskin's first collaborative piece emerges from their own mother-daughter bond. The space is filled with Tuomo Puranen's ritualistic, pounding electronic music and Mari Boinen's joik, which calls for transformation and draws listeners toward the ancestors' message.
