In the Forest's Care - A Multisensory Exhibition and Event Series

Kanneltalo's gallery presents the closing exhibition of the Metsäkissa2044 project from August 14-29, bringing together visual art, sound, movement, and participatory activities. The two-year project is funded by the Kone Foundation. Admission to the exhibition and all events is free.

Visual artist and biologist Susu Rytteri has created a monumental work titled "Utopia from the Forest" in the gallery: a large flock of rowan butterflies flies across a clay-plastered background. Alongside this work, a series of one hundred drawings called "Tree of Life" and moving images are on display. Musician Katja Luhtala has composed a sound work titled "The Language of the Forest" for the space. The exhibition also features the forest theatre collective from Legioonateatterin under the direction of Virpi Koskela, the utopian pedagogy of Aki Saariaho and Antti Rajala, and Jukka Ilmonen's improvisational dialogues.
