Eläkeläiset performs at Tavastia Club in September, known for their distinctive humppa-style cover songs.
Eläkeläiset is a Finnish band from Joensuu, founded in April 1993 as a side project of the punk group Kumikameli. They play humppa and jenkka versions of well-known rock and pop songs - with Finnish lyrics and at full electric volume - making the originals barely recognizable. Over three decades the band has built a particularly strong following in German-speaking Europe, where they tour more often than in Finland itself.
Eläkeläiset moved their official web shop to a new platform.
A Suomen Kuvalehti feature reported the band's German fanbase is growing, with a 16-date spring tour of Germany planned for April-May 2025.
The band announced the 'Der Humppaschlag 2025' German tour, returning to venues they have played since first touring Germany in 1996.
Eläkeläiset performed in Gothenburg for the first time in over 15 years, with the concert broadcast live on Sveriges Radio Finska and SVT Play.
