Moonspell is a Portuguese gothic metal band from Brandoa, near Lisbon, active since 1992. They broke through internationally with the debut album Wolfheart (1995) and went on to become the biggest metal act from Portugal - their 2006 album Memorial was the first record by a Portuguese metal band to be certified gold. Across 13 studio albums, the band has built a devoted European following by weaving dark romanticism, occult imagery and occasional Portuguese-language lyrics into their heavy sound.
Moonspell released their 13th studio album Far from God on 3 July 2026 via Napalm Records.
Moonspell announced the album title Far from God on 8 March 2026 and shared the title track as the first single on 25 March 2026.
