Tabula Rasa is a Finnish progressive rock band founded in Kangasala in 1972 by guitarist Heikki Silvennoinen, bassist Tapio Suominen and drummer Asko Pakkanen. Signed to Love Records, the band released two albums - the self-titled debut (1975) and Ekkedien tanssi (1976) - before disbanding in 1977-78. Drawing on Cream, Jethro Tull, King Crimson and Wigwam, they built a melodic, flute-driven prog sound with Finnish-language lyrics largely penned by Mikko Alatalo. The band reunited in 2025, sparked by a memorial concert for the late Heikki Silvennoinen, and has been performing again with founding members Suominen and Pakkanen alongside a new generation of musicians.
Tabula Rasa is scheduled to perform at Tavastia in Helsinki on 8 August 2026.
Tabula Rasa played Suisto-klubi in Hämeenlinna on 13 June 2026 as part of their ongoing comeback tour.
The band performed at Sellosali in Espoo on 2 May 2026, continuing the comeback run that started in Kangasala in February.
Multiple Finnish music outlets reported the band's return to live performance, with the Kangasala-talo show selling out almost immediately after tickets went on sale.
The reunion was set in motion at a memorial concert for founding guitarist Heikki Silvennoinen in May 2025.
