Wonderful Materials - Installation (by the stairs next to the terrarium building)

The Wonderful Materials exhibition encourages children and young people to engage in creative experimentation using nature's gifts and treasures from household recycling bins.

The exhibition is based on the book Wonderful Materials published by Aalto University's Bioinnovation Centre. The book combines chemistry, materials science, art and design in practical recipes that unlock creativity at home and at school - without harming the environment.

The book contains 17 instructions for creating interesting materials from naturally collected, recycled and biodegradable raw materials.

The furniture, inhabitants and other details of the exhibition house, made from bio-based materials, were created by students from art schools in Espoo and Forssa, as well as students from Forssa combined gymnasium.
