Excellent Materials - Installation (by the stairs near the terrarium corner)

The Excellent Materials exhibition encourages children and young people to experiment creatively with nature's gifts and recycled household materials. The exhibition is based on a book of the same name published by Aalto University's Bioinnovation Center, which combines chemistry, materials science, art, and design into practical recipes - for home and school, without burdening the environment. The book contains 17 instructions for making interesting materials from naturally gathered, recycled, and biodegradable raw materials.

Furniture, decorative elements, and other details in the exhibition house, made from bio-based materials, were created by students from art schools in Espoo and Forssa, as well as students from Forssa Upper Secondary School.
