KonnTeksti is a story festival featuring literature, music and author meetings at Siikapirtti in Konnevesi on 9-11 July. The programme includes a silent film concert, author interviews and musical performances.
Anja Snellman (born Kauranen, 1954, Helsinki) is one of Finland's most widely read authors, with 27 novels, three poetry collections and several works of nonfiction to her name. Her 1981 debut Sonja O. kävi täällä remains the highest-selling debut novel in Finnish literary history, and her work has since been translated into more than 20 languages. Beyond writing, she works as a psychotherapist and journalist, and has directed both the Helsinki Book Fair programme and the Vasa LitteraturFest. She received the Pro Finlandia Medal in 2007.
Snellman participated as a dancer in Susanna Leinonen Company's dance piece Rajatila, which premiered at Stoa in Helsinki on 25 March 2026.
In 2025, Snellman reflected on what it means to be a seventy-something author in an interview for the Union of Finnish Writers' magazine.
In spring 2025, Snellman curated a film series for Kino Konepaja in Helsinki, ending with a screening of The Penguin Lessons ahead of its Finnish premiere.
Snellman published her 27th novel, Kirjeitä sotapäällikölle (WSOY, September 2024), a fictional account of the Vastaamo psychotherapy centre data breach told from the perspective of a therapist-author who worked there.
Snellman celebrated her 70th birthday on 23 May 2024.
