Horizon Ignited is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Kouvola, founded in 2017 by guitarists Johannes Mäkinen and Vili Vottonen. The six-piece blends Gothenburg-style melodeath with metalcore edges, and has released three studio albums - the self-published debut 'After the Storm' (2019), 'Towards the Dying Lands' on Nuclear Blast (2022), and 'Tides' via Reaper Entertainment (2025). Recorded with Swallow the Sun guitarist Juho Räihä and mixed by Chris Clancy (Machine Head, Kataklysm), 'Tides' cemented the band's reputation as one of Finland's most promising acts in the genre.
Horizon Ignited released the standalone single 'Monument' on March 6, 2026 via Reaper Entertainment - a track written during the 'Tides' sessions that did not make the final album.
The band released the standalone single 'The Catalyst' in December 2025, another outtake from the 'Tides' recording sessions.
Third studio album 'Tides' came out on February 21, 2025 via Reaper Entertainment, recorded with Juho Räihä (Swallow the Sun) and mixed by Chris Clancy.
Horizon Ignited are confirmed as a support act for Dark Tranquillity at CoolHead Live in Helsinki on July 9, 2026.
